TopGen privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
TopGen is a strategy game made by AiWindsAdmiral ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game and its server keep about you, why, who else receives it, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted. It covers TopGen on every platform — Android, desktop, the web and Steam — and the TopGen game server.
What we keep, and why
Your account. You sign in to play, and your account holds:
- your commander name, which other players see;
- your password, if you set one — stored only as a salted hash that cannot be turned back into the password;
- your Google Play Games player ID, if you sign in with Google Play Games (we never see your Google password or e-mail address; Play Games may offer your gamer name as your commander name);
- a random sign-in token, and a random identifier the game creates for the device you registered on;
- your rating, wins, losses and draws, when you joined and when you were last online.
We use it to sign you in, to pair you with opponents and to show the players list. Other players can see your commander name, your player ID, and your rating and record. Whether you are online is shown to nobody.
Your synced game data. Your decks and your game settings (theme, banner colours, controls and display preferences) are copied to our server so that they follow you to your other devices.
Your online matches. For each online match we keep who played, the age it was fought in, the result and when it was played, and a recording of the battle (the orders both players gave). The recording is also sent to both players, so each can watch the replay. We use matches to work out ratings and to check that results are fair.
Your live map profile. If you play the live map, the shared world keeps your commander there: its armies and holdings, the realm name you choose and the names you give holdings, your goods and market orders, your trades, and your finished runs with their scores, which the leaderboard shows. Whether you are on the map is used only to decide who plays your battles, and is shown to nobody.
Your reviews. If you write a review or a bug report in the game, we keep its text with where you wrote it (the home screen or a battle, and which match), your platform and the game version. Other players see your reviews with your commander name, and the number of players who supported each one.
Your sign-in history. Each time you sign in we record the IP address you connected from, the country and city that address belongs to (looked up on our server — the game never reads your location), your platform and the game version. We use it to keep the service secure, to detect cheating — such as one person playing several accounts, or matches thrown between accounts — and to understand where our players are, which versions they run and how often they play. We keep it while your account exists.
Server logs. Our server's logs contain IP addresses, player IDs and commander names. We use them to run and protect the service, and delete them after a limited time.
On your device. The game keeps your sign-in token (never your password), your settings, your decks, your tutorial progress and the replays of your matches on your device — in the browser's storage for the web version. They stay there until you sign out (which removes the token), clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Advertising (Android)
The Android version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show ads and measure them, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising ID, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about your device and how you interact with the ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the game asks for your consent through Google's consent form first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ads → Privacy options. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings.
How Google uses this information is described in Google's privacy policy and on How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
The game also shows our own announcement cards. They, and the game's online configuration, are downloaded from Google Firebase; like any download, that shows Google your IP address, and we receive nothing from it. The Steam version shows no ads at all.
Who else receives information
- Google — Google Play Games Services, to confirm your Play Games identity when you sign in with it; Google AdMob, for ads (above); and Google Firebase, for the game's online configuration and announcement cards.
- Our hosting provider, which runs our server and stores its data on our behalf.
- Other players, who see what is marked as visible above.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Your account, synced data, matches with their recordings, reviews and sign-in history: until you delete your account. Your live map profile: until you delete your account, and after that only anonymized, as the shared world's history. Server logs and backups of the server's database: for a limited time, after which they are deleted; information you delete disappears from the backups as they are replaced. Statistics that cannot identify anyone may be kept indefinitely.
Deleting your account
In the game: open Account, choose Delete account and type your commander name to confirm. Your account and everything tied to it is erased from our server at once, and the device signs out.
Without the game: write to the contact address on TopGen's store page with your commander name, and your player ID if you know it. We will confirm that the account is yours, delete it as soon as we can and tell you when it is done. TopGen's account deletion web page gives the same instructions.
What deletion cannot reach: your opponents keep the rating changes from the matches they played against you, and replays already saved on their own devices — which show your commander name — stay on those devices. On the live map, deletion cuts the link between your account and your commander for good and replaces the names you typed (your commander's, your realm's and your holdings') with neutral ones; what your commander did there — its armies, holdings, runs, trades and scores — stays in the shared world, anonymous. Server logs and backups keep what they already hold until they are deleted in turn. Decks and settings stored on your own devices stay there until you remove them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom, or the CCPA in California — you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to give you a copy, or to delete it; you can object to how we use it, and you can complain to your data protection authority. Write to the contact address on TopGen's store page.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: providing the game you signed up for (your account, synced data and matches); our legitimate interest in a secure and fair service (sign-in history, server logs, reviews and match recordings) and in understanding how the game is played (sign-in history); and your consent, where the law requires it, for personalised ads.
Children
TopGen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has a TopGen account, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and your devices keep a sign-in token instead of your password. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep only what the game needs.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top; for important changes, we also tell you in the game.
